'Monarch' Hand printed limited edition linocut print
Hand pulled full colour lino cut print of a Monarch Butterfly.
Native to the USA, the Monarch butterfly sometimes makes an epic trip across the Atlantic to Britain. I have created this full coloured linocut in homage to this extraordinary natural phenomenon.
This design is artwork is from a limited run of 25 prints and is hand signed, titled and numbered.
About this print
I mix my colours separately for each artwork so that no two prints are alike and carefully apply the colours to my first linoblock.
After hand pressing the colour onto the paper, I replace the block with one that has the main design carved onto it and then hand print the black ink part of the image to complete the artwork.
