Intended for the improving beginner or intermediate painter / sketcher, or those who have attended my introduction to line and wash workshop, my ‘Rural Sketching’ workshop provides an opportunity to improve your painting and drawing through line and wash sketching.

This fun and expressive combination of ink drawing and watercolour painting uses little equipment and is a great medium for beginning to create your own artworks. It is also ideal for outdoor sketching and journaling.

This fun and expressive combination of ink drawing and watercolour painting uses little equipment and is a great medium for beginning to create your own artworks. It is also ideal for outdoor sketching and journaling.

Through practical demonstrations and paint-along exercises, I will provide you with tips and techniques to help you advance your line and wash sketches with consideration of linework, paint application, composition and form. We will begin with an overview of the basic materials and specific drawing and painting techniques needed for line and wash before sketching scenes inspired by rural landscapes.

This workshop is limited to 6 places. All equipment is provided, you may also wish to bring an apron and a drink/snacks.

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop will be held in the Tithe Barn Hayloft which is accessed by a flight of stairs.

Free off-road parking is available at the venue, directly in front of the main entrance.

Terms

I will only admit to a workshop individuals who have purchased a place on the workshop.

Customers cancelling places more than seven days before the day of the workshop will receive a full refund. Customers cancelling places less than seven days before the day of the workshop will receive a 50% refund.
